Web Developer

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Web Developer is responsible for the development of websites from conception to deployment. The candidate should excel in all components of the web development skill set including; ActionScript, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, integration with REST based APIs, site maintenance, and troubleshooting.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Develop and maintains web sites using Flash ActionScript, Adobe FLEX 3 HTML and JavaScript skills. Integrates vendor-produced projects with ADS architecture and systems. Develops overarching functionality (e.g. media players, advertising units, tools, etc.) across Warner Bros. websites. Performs maintenance of websites as needed.
• Define the architecture and standards for internal as well as externally developed projects. Provides technical direction to external vendors to ensure smooth integration of websites with ADS databases, traffic systems, advertising systems, etc. Document processes for the maintenance of sites.
• Work closely with management to effectively coordinate, schedule, and manage projects.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, multimedia, marketing, communications or equivalent work experience required.
• 4 years of experience programming/coding web page content.
• Prior experience in entertainment production, marketing and/or advertising is preferred.
• Advanced computer knowledge is essential, as is experience with software applications necessary to complete projects. These may include, but are not limited to, digital graphic tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and/or Painter.
• Experience with development tools such as Adobe Flash CS3, FLEX 3, and Dreamweaver, FTP applications.
• Expert ActionScript 3.0 and object oriented programming skills.
• Data Services integration: XML, JSON, SOAP, etc.
• Some experience with architecture / design patterns.
• Optimization, both code and graphics.
• Quality testing.
• Experience using Audio and Video in Flash.
• Strong HTML hand coding skills.
• Strong JavaScript, DHTML and CSS skills.
• Proficiency with Macintosh and PC platforms is mandatory.
• Project management skills are required.
• Understanding of related Web issues, including color, site architecture, user-interface, navigation, type.
• Excellent attention to detail, and a desire to learn and master new technologies a must.
• Must excel in project organization and tracking, including flowcharts, and schedules.
• Strong experience in estimating large projects, and time management skills.
• Must be a “self-starter” as well as work in a group project environment.
• Must possess excellent problem solving and debugging skills.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with others (clients, staff, management, vendors, etc.).
• Must be able to work well in a fast paced, heterogeneous environment.
• Writing (for team / client communication, documentation, comments, etc).
