A smart recruitment process entails analyzing the hiring need and taking a systematic approach to recruiting for that need — it is a combination of job understanding, sourcing strategy, and recruiting finesse. Process refers to the way the recruiter organizes and executes a search; it is formulated by cataloging recruiting successes learned through years of repetition.
The goal of a structured process is to provide a road-map for predictable and consistent results. By adhering to a structured process, every action we take is calculated and measured against our success paradigm. This enables us to make recruiting adjustments as necessary "on the fly" and continually fine-tune our search effort for the optimal results.
Recruiting with a field-tested and "documented" process will always produce superior results to recruiting without one. The alternative is a recipe for failure that often results in costly hiring mistakes. A strong recruiting process is the best safeguard against recruitment failure and its serious consequences.
